Tackling Learner Anxiety By Diversifying Teaching and Assessment Strategies (PART ONE- Session B)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.

This is PART ONE SESSION B of this workshop. Please note that this session will be a repeat of the content from Session A, held yesterday. It is presented again for those who it is more convenient to attend this time slot.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore how learner anxiety creates unequal learning opportunities and how it can compromise equitable assessments. Using a CAF (fluency, complexity, and accuracy) framework, participants will revise their learning objectives related to oral skills, (re)design oral activities to address multiple learning styles, and increase their repertoire of assessment strategies to support the diversity of their learners. Participants will also learn timesaving grading tips for oral assessments and explore some technology tools, like Extempore, they can use to promote speaking in in-person, blended, and remote teaching. This is a 3-hour workshop delivered over two days through a combination of lecture, small group discussion, and independent reflection.
